SARA Rail Conference and exhibituin 2012 are hosted by the Southern African Railways Association (SARA). The event will be on 6th to 8th November 2012 at the Indy Village located in Maputo, Mozambique. It will be the third annual event since the launching of SARA Rail in November 2010. This year's theme is entitled ""Promoting Seamless Integration of Rail, Road and Port Transport Services in Southern Africa". Delegates will include ministers of transport and top-level executives from Southern Africa who shall provide the most up-to-date information of the rail sector. It is a forum where the Southern African region's rail operators and governments come together to find sustainable solutions as well exchange of best practices. The SARA Rail Conference has became the preferred forum for networking between professionals, key players and stakeholders on new perspectives and needs for efficient, safe and economically viable rail transport in Southern Africa. Delegates explore possible solutions that can enhance service delivery of the regional railway network by improving its performance and contribution to regional economic development in line with the provisions of the SADC Protocol on Transport, Communications and Meteorology.

The overall aim is to make the Southern African railway network the most preferred, cost effective and efficient mode for moving goods and people within the region and beyond. This is to be achieved by unlocking the potential of the railway industry through sharing, valuable expertise and experiences relating to policies, systems and technological advancements.
